SAVE THE RED CHURCH - After many months of waiting, on October 20,2020, the Friends and Family of the Benton PM Church received the deed from the Primitive Methodist Denomination to become the owner of the church building. We are so excited! For 146 years the church has been a place of gathering for worship, marriage, funerals and many other social events in the Benton Community. This property is a sacred space, an important part of our cultural landscape and a huge part of Benton's collective history We want this building to return to its former purpose and standing in the community! The building has the damage associated with long term neglect and some of the work that needs to be done to save the church building and the addition is urgent. The main building, the bell tower and the addition all need roofs. We are posting this information to those that have personal

involvement in the cemetery and the church building. We are hoping that you will join the Raise the Roof Campaign. Thank you so much for those who have helped already.
